About us

The 16-bed residential facility of the Heartview Foundation, situated on the serene outskirts of Cando, North Dakota, offers a supportive and tranquil environment for those who are in the process of recovering. This facility, situated in the rural community of Cando, provides a tranquil environment that is conducive to personal development and recovery for individuals aged 18 and older. The center is renowned for its comprehensive treatment protocol, which integrates evidence-based therapies with holistic and experiential approaches to promote the emotional, physical, and mental health of its residents.

Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) Horse Therapy is a unique feature of the Cando facility that enables clients to participate in therapeutic interactions with horses. This therapy is distinctive in that it assists individuals in the development of communication skills, trust, and emotional awareness. Furthermore, residents are afforded the opportunity to engage in interactions with Cando’s therapy dog, Brody, which provides an additional layer of solace and support during their treatment. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and holistic therapy are among the therapies provided at the Cando facility. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) assists clients in addressing negative thought patterns and behaviors, while holistic therapy concentrates on the holistic well-being of the individualโ€”mind, body, and spirit. The center also underscores the significance of physical health in recovery by providing Nutrition Therapy and Exercise Therapy to assist clients in the development of healthier lifestyles as they strive for sobriety. Additionally, Art Therapy and Experiential Therapy are employed to facilitate emotional recovery and healing by promoting personal reflection and self-expression.

Heartview Foundation’s Cando facility is dedicated to offering a comprehensive and compassionate approach to recovery by offering a diverse array of therapies in a serene, rural environment. It guarantees that each client receives the personalized care necessary to achieve enduring recovery and well-being by integrating traditional evidence-based treatments with holistic and experiential therapies.
