About us
When Cope Behavioral Services first opened its doors in a church basement in 1974, it underwent a dramatic transformation. From modest beginnings with the goal of enhancing community health, it has grown into a complete healthcare organization that is now recognized under the name COPE Community Services, Inc. (COPE). The Mesquite clinic of COPE, which is based in Tucson, Arizona, provides a variety of outpatient services for adults and children who are struggling with drug misuse and mental health issues.
Counseling sessions are the first of several family and individual services offered to clients upon admission to COPE. These meetings provide a forum for people to talk about their addictions and any underlying mental health conditions, exchange stories, and gain knowledge from one another. In order to promote a more seamless recovery process, the outpatient program also offers access to medicine that reduces withdrawal symptoms and helps control cravings. Referrals for social assistance are also provided.
COPE provides a unique program called Thrive for kids and families. The purpose of this program is to teach stress and anger management strategies via positive reinforcement. In addition to learning new skills and interacting with others, participants may also get help tailored to their individual requirements. To further assist families in navigating the difficulties of assisting a kid in recovery, parenting workshops are offered. The program provides specialized assistance, including medication-assisted therapy if required, for youth battling with drug misuse between the ages of 13 and 17.
Since not everyone has easy access to clinic-based treatments, COPE has created a wellness on wheels mobile unit. Convenient and easily accessible, this program offers wellness checkups, preventative care, and medication management to the community. In order to ensure that people do not have to undergo rehabilitation alone, the mobile unit also arranges peer support, administers prescriptions for opioid disorders, and does drug and HIV tests.
COPE Behavioral Services has dedicated itself for more than 50 years to paving the route for improved health and changing many lives along the way. By providing comprehensive programs, specialized treatments, resources, and support to address general mental health difficulties, major mental diseases, drug misuse, and overall wellbeing, COPE’s integrated healthcare approach addresses the relationship between body, mind, and spirit. By ensuring that these essential services are available to everyone, the organization’s many financing sources and contracts uphold COPE’s tradition of serving the community.
Certification: The CARF has recognized COPE Behavioral Services, confirming that it adheres to strict guidelines for quality of care and efficacy in its treatment plans.

Out of 10
We understand that choosing an addiction treatment center can be overwhelming, especially with so many options, promises, and marketing messages. Thatโs why weโve developed a clear, standardized rating system designed to cut through the noise and highlight what truly matters: safety, quality of care, and transparency. Our goal is to give individuals and families the information they need to make confident, informed decisions during a critical time.
In this guide, we explain exactly how we rate treatment centersโfrom accreditation and staff credentials to therapy options, facility environment, and family involvement. Youโll see how we assign scores, award badges, and update listings to ensure accuracy and fairness. Most importantly, our system focuses on elevating centers that prioritize ethical, evidence-based care, not just those with the best marketing. This way, you can trust that the ratings you see reflect meaningful standards that help you find the right fit for lasting recovery.
