About us

The Phoenix Center – Detoxification in Greenville, South Carolina, is a nonprofit alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility dedicated to preventing and treating substance abuse inadolescents and adults. The Phoenix Center operates a 10-bed medical detoxification unit designed to assist adults experiencing acute crisis due to substance use. Staffed round-the-clock by nurses, physicians, and supportive personnel, the facility ensures clients undergo detoxification under expert supervision. Throughout their stay, clients participate in group meetings to enhance their understanding of addiction and explore recovery options post-detox.

Inpatient care at The Phoenix Center provides intensive rehabilitation services for men and women requiring a secure environment and close monitoring. Residents live onsite with access to comprehensive medical care and additional support services from dedicated staff. Each day includes structured treatment sessions totaling six hours, tailored to address individual treatment needs and support long-term recovery goals.

The treatment plan emphasizes therapy aimed at identifying and mitigating triggers associated with substance use, while promoting the development of healthy coping mechanisms. Therapy sessions are conducted both individually and in group settings to support comprehensive recovery. Clients are also introduced to community-based support resources that can assist them post-program completion.

Outpatient programs at the facility serve as a continuum of care following inpatient treatment, offering flexibility for clients transitioning from more intensive care settings. Some individuals also use outpatient care as a step-down option following detoxification. Participants attend scheduled visits at the facility while residing at home, maintaining regular school attendance, and continuing employment. The outpatient services cater to adolescents aged 12-17 as well as adults, ensuring age-appropriate and personalized treatment options.

Adult clients participating in the outpatient program at our facility are eligible for medication-assisted treatment (MAT), a comprehensive approach aimed at managing cravings and minimizing the potential for relapse. MAT involves the administration of FDA-approved medications such as Suboxone, Subutex, and Vivitrol, which are carefully monitored and adjusted as part of the treatment plan.

Throughout their participation in MAT, clients receive ongoing supervision to ensure the medications are effectively supporting their recovery journey. This integrated approach combines medication with counseling and behavioral therapies, providing a holistic framework to address substance use disorders and promote sustainable recovery outcomes. Our clinical team remains committed to tailoring MAT to individual needs, supporting clients in achieving long-term health and well-being.
